Terms of Service

The conditions that apply when you use icta.org.zw, the ICTAZ member and student portal, and related online services.

Last updated: 13 October 2026

These Terms of Service (“Terms”) govern access to and use of the website and online portal operated by the Institute of Chartered Tax Accountants of Zimbabwe (“ICTAZ”, “we”, “us”, or “our”), including https://mail.icta.org.zw and associated membership, education, payment, and verification services. By using our online services, you agree to these Terms.

1. About these Terms

ICTAZ provides a professional website and portal for members, students, applicants, partners, and the public. Additional rules may apply to membership, examinations, CPD, disciplinary processes, and programme enrolment. Where those rules conflict with these Terms for a specific professional process, the applicable Institute rule or written agreement prevails for that process.

2. Eligibility and accounts

  • You must provide accurate information when registering, applying, or updating your profile.
  • You are responsible for safeguarding your login credentials and for activity that occurs under your account.
  • Portal access may depend on your role (for example member, student, or administrator) and on account status such as active, pending, or suspended.
  • ICTAZ may refuse, suspend, or terminate access where necessary to protect security, comply with Institute rules, or prevent misuse.

3. Google Sign-In

Where available, you may sign in using Google. By doing so you authorise Google to share with ICTAZ the limited identity information needed for authentication (such as your Google account ID, verified email, and basic profile details).

Google Sign-In is offered to help existing users access their portal account more conveniently. It does not replace ICTAZ membership rules, fee obligations, or eligibility requirements. If Google authentication fails, or if no matching ICTAZ account exists for the verified email, you may need to use email and password sign-in or contact ICTAZ for assistance.

4. Acceptable use

You agree not to:

  • attempt unauthorised access to accounts, systems, data, or administrative functions;
  • upload malware, scrape the site abusively, or interfere with service availability;
  • misrepresent your identity, qualifications, membership status, or payment status;
  • use the portal to harass others or to publish unlawful, defamatory, or infringing content;
  • circumvent security, examination integrity, or proctoring controls.

5. Applications, membership, and professional services

Submitting an online application or using a portal feature does not by itself guarantee approval, membership, enrolment, certification, or any particular outcome. Decisions remain subject to ICTAZ policies, assessment criteria, payment of applicable fees, and professional standards. Public registers and verification tools are provided to support transparency; you must not misuse them.

6. Fees and payments

Fees displayed in the portal or on invoices are payable according to ICTAZ’s published schedules and payment instructions. Online payments may be processed by third-party providers. You are responsible for ensuring payment details are accurate and that funds are authorised. Refunds, if any, are governed by ICTAZ’s applicable fee and refund policies.

7. Content and intellectual property

Website and portal content — including text, branding, logos, course materials (where provided), layouts, and software — is owned by ICTAZ or its licensors and is protected by applicable intellectual property laws. You may use the services for legitimate personal or professional purposes related to ICTAZ. You may not copy, redistribute, or commercially exploit Institute materials without prior written permission, except where expressly allowed.

8. Third-party services

Our services may integrate with third parties (for example Google authentication, payment gateways, or hosting providers). Those services are subject to their own terms and privacy policies. ICTAZ is not responsible for third-party sites or services beyond our reasonable control, except as required by law.

9. Disclaimers

The website and portal are provided on an “as available” basis. While we aim for accuracy and reliability, ICTAZ does not warrant that the services will be uninterrupted, error-free, or free of harmful components. Professional advice specific to your circumstances should be obtained through appropriate channels; general website content is not a substitute for tailored professional advice.

10. Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, ICTAZ and its officers, employees, and agents shall not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for loss of profits, data, or business opportunity arising from your use of the website or portal. Nothing in these Terms excludes liability that cannot be excluded under Zimbabwean law.

11. Privacy

How we collect and use personal information is described in our Privacy Policy, which forms part of your understanding of these online services.

12. Changes

We may update these Terms from time to time. The “Last updated” date will be revised when changes are published. Continued use after changes take effect means you accept the updated Terms, except where additional consent is required by law.

13. Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of Zimbabwe. Disputes arising from use of the website or portal shall be subject to the courts of Zimbabwe, without prejudice to any mandatory consumer or statutory rights you may have.
